Hi Everyone,

The weather in New York is great, and the bridge is gearing up for a
fantastic ten days of competitive bridge fun. There’s much to do in New
York and it is nice to see my old friends. Sadly, we lost in the GNT
Flight A competition during the evening of the second day by 5 VP’s.
Better yet; we are starting the 0-5000 Life Master Pairs on Friday. (All
of the New York National Daily Bulletins are found at
http://web2.acbl.org/nabc/nydup/bulletins.html .)

Please be reminded that the Cathy Strauch International Fund Game is
Friday night at 7:00 PM. The hands are pre-made and will be compared to
everyone playing the event throughout the world. We will be playing the
hands here at the Nationals in New York City. Cathy Strauch’s Realty
Company will be picking up the sanction fee for all playing Friday night
at 7:00 pm at Adventures. Please remember that if you bring a pot luck
dish to share, your entry fee is reduced to $6 per person. Please join us
in making this night memorable in both hospitality and bridge!

Monday night is an ICC Game (Intra-Club Championship). These hands will be
played at all participating clubs in the country, as well as here at the
Nationals in New York City. Lots of masterpoints will be awarded. Game
time is 7:00 PM and the entry fee is $8.00. If fewer that five tables show
up, all will play for free. Ken will have special snacks planned at 6:30
pm.

Pairs. The bridge hands were fun as well as the competition, and a unique
scoring system.

Most of all, I want to thank you for the wonderful 50th Birthday Party
Celebration on June 26th. I was truly surprised, to say the least. We have
a special thanks to Cheryl for a wonderful job organizing the celebration.
The next San Diego Unit game will be on July 18th at 1:00 PM with a
separate 199er section.

Happy 4th of July! The bridge was fantastic and food wonderful. Thanks to
LaVaughn and Lena for helping organize our feast. What an eclectic group
to turnout and show their support. San Diego Bridge Players are the
greatest and we’re most happy to able to be part of the family and fun.
